Protesters outside A&E
On Wednesday 5th July, the 69th Birthday of the NHS, protesters gathered outside the hospital against the closure of the only drop in centre in Lincoln.
Their aim to stop the closure of this valuable service. With an already overstretched A&E department, the closure of the Walk in Centre would only put more pressure on this service. Consultation documents state that users would utilize longer GP surgery hours; but this won't be in place for 3 years. The drop in centre is also available to those who are not registered with a doctor, such as students, travellers and the homeless. The centre is also used by those who are unable to get an appointment with their GP.
